Create your web page

This document describes the procedure to modify personal pages. We will assume that the user's name is Pierre Quiroule for the purpose of this example.

Personal pages are accessible by putting a tilde followed by the person's login. In our example, the address will be http://www.cmap.polytechnique.fr/~pierre.quiroule

First of all, you can ask the IT team to create a web directory for you if it is not already the case (message page not found (404)).

You can then place your pages in the directory /home/pierre.quiroule/www . The first page must be called index.html ; then, you can create other pages, directories, etc. You can use the Mozilla editor, nvu or konpozer to create your page if you don't know HTML. You can also modify the template: https://cmap-info.gitlab.labos.polytechnique.fr/template-web/

To copy your files you can follow the procedure: http://www.cmap.polytechnique.fr/intra/spip/spip.php?article19.
